Sample data

For families in remote valleys, the nearest hospital can be a day's journey away, and in winter the road may be closed. Our health posts and mobile clinic teams bring a doctor, a midwife and essential medicines to villages on a regular schedule.

Every team includes women health workers, so women and girls can be seen by a woman. We work alongside the public health system and refer serious cases to district and provincial hospitals, paying for transport when families cannot.

Our goals

  • Provide 100,000 consultations a year through health posts and mobile clinics
  • Make sure a trained midwife attends 3,000 births a year
  • Check every child under five in our villages for malnutrition twice a year
  • Keep every health post stocked with essential medicines all year round

How we work

  1. Mobile teams visit each village on a fixed day, so families know when care is coming.
  2. Midwives come from the provinces they serve and are supervised by a senior midwife.
  3. Children found to be malnourished join a feeding program and are checked every two weeks.
  4. Serious cases are referred to the nearest hospital, and we cover the cost of getting there.

$25 keeps a child in class for a whole term

That pays for books, a slate and a share of a local teacher's salary. Give once or every month.
